Welcome to LeadReadFeed - a new approach to developing and supporting leaders in all aspects.

What does it mean to be a leader?  How does one gain the skills and abilities necessary to lead a group?  Is the skill of leadership something you are born with as some suggest?  Is it something that can be learned like various disciplines?  And what do you think actually defines a leader?

This site is dedicated to the discussion of such topics and many others.  In this current state of the world one might argue that this skill is needed more now than ever before.

Leadership is not new to humans and probably not exclusive to humans for that matter.  Although it is clear that animals, especially in packs have leadership and organizational structures, we are not privy to the way leadership happens.

Humans on the other hand have never been shy about explaining leadership and skills going back prior to written history.  In this section we will highlight some of the historic thoughts on leadership that are still valid today.  If you have others please comment and we will incorporate them.

"A leader is best when people barely know he exists…when his work is done, his aim fulfilled, they will all say: We did it ourselves.”
— Lao-Tzu, an ancient philosopher and founder of Taoism

Welcome to Leadreadfeed.  The idea of this site is to continue and grow the conversation around leadership for the new realities of the world.  This site is meant to be a collection of thoughts including past, present and future thoughts on leadership and what it means.

If you would like to contribute to this site, please shoot me an email with a bit of your background and your thoughts on leadership.  This will be a curated site, but one that offers everyone interested a platform for discovery.

There are always ongoing conversations about leadership and what it means to be a leader.  Over the last few decades I would argue there was a move away from leadership and towards management.  Management is not Leadership in my beliefs although good Leaders entail management.  My thoughts are ever evolving and I would be happy to discuss.

If you are passionate about leadership and would like to discuss it, please join with us.  Thank you - T. Regan
